Biographical history

William Hayward, [ca. 1880s- after 1950], was a photographer from Ontario. He joined the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) in Toronto on June 4, 1902, and served as a constable in the Yukon Territory until July 1906, when he returned to Ontario to farm near Hamilton.

The fonds consists of diaries and lantern slides recording patrols, daily business, etc. while at Dawson City and other NWMP detachments in the Yukon; and diaries as a farmer in Ontario.
