Biographical history

Herman Linder, 1907-2001, was born in Darlington, Wisconsin, USA and came to Cardston, Alberta with his family in 1918. He married Agnes, ?-1985, in 1932 and they had two children, George, and Rosemary (Bews). Herman began his involvement with rodeo in 1919 and participated in many rodeos in Alberta and the USA. He was a professional from 1929-1939. He ranched and leased land near the Blood reserve. In 1987 he was inducted into the Rodeo and Cowboy Hall of Fame and in 1980 into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. Linder married Adeline in 1990. For further information see Turn Him Loose!
